Capacity Building & Training
Engaging women in the development activities has been central to RDF ways of working with the communites. RDF organized trainings for the women in stitching, designing and cutting of clothes, WASH, kitchen gardening and show piece making.
Energy Efficient Stove
Made with the mud, the energy efficient stove reduces 45% fuel wood consumption, thus bringing reduction of the GHGs emissions into the atmosphere. It reduces the tree cutting and the household expenditures incurred on fuel wood.
Solar Desalination Stills
RDF developed proto-type models of solar desalination stills through action research to convert saline water into drinkable water. This research programme envisaged a low-cost and easily maintainable user-friendly technology by using all locally materials. The improved model produces 10-12 liters of distilled water in summer season.
Solar Water Pumping
RDF has successfully piloted a solar powered pumping system to provide safe drinking water in hilly area of district Jamshoro. The system is installed in village Shahmeer Daidano District Jamshoro benefiting more than 200 families.
Education & Learning
Education and learning is one of the thematic area, RDF works in Sindh. the program offers cost quality education to the rural communites in Sindh. the program is run through mobilizing local philanthropic support.
Eco Sanitation
Ecological sanitation is a form of sanitation system that ususally involes urine diversion and composting of human waste. Ecosan systems provide a hygienically safe, economically, and cloesd-loop system to convert human wastes into nutrients to be returned to the soil, and water to be returned to the land.

Partnership with SDC

RDF has entered into partnership with Swiss Development Cooperation (SDC) under a contingency planning arrangement. RDF will provide manufacturing of chlorine and chlorinated water to communities, NGOs and government departments during emergencies.

Restoration of safe and disaster resilient water supply
RDF to launch “restoration of safe and disaster resilient water supply, improved sanitation and hygiene for flood affected population in Dadu District” by 15th July 2012.

Water Quality Analysis
RDF is offering water quality tests in its ‘Water Quality Analysis’ laboratory on subsidized rates to civil society organizations and academia. Biological and chemical tests are conducted in the laboratory.
Training on ‘Disaster Risk Reduction

Training on ‘disaster risk reduction’ was organized by RDF for officials of the local government agencies in Mirpurkhas. 31 participants from Tehsil Municipal Administration, Taluka Officer (Infrastructure) and others participated.
